NZ Kiwis and AK Sourdoughs
This weekend we had a great visit with some welcome guests. Lyne McFarlane, a geologist/biologist/musher friend of ours from New Zealand, joined Joe and another woman from Colorado for an arctic expedition two winters ago. She’s staying in Alaska over the winter, working at a kennel in Willow. She and Joanne Klumb (Laughing Husky) came out to the house yesterday so Lyne could visit her favorite malamute, Nikko!
Joanne, Joe, and Lyne
Nikko sure was happy to see his friend. He smothered Lyne with sloppy kisses and bear-hugs!

Bear and Boss were happy to meet Joanne!

While we visited, Oskar, Red, and Grace did a little visiting of their own. They had Farmer acting like a kid again.

Lyne brought us some Possum/Merino socks from New Zealand. I didn’t know such a thing existed. They’re divine!

Nigel and Rose (The Real Dog Equipment Co, Ltd.), a couple of malamute lovers from New Zealand, kindly sent a rainbow of collars for the dogs! Yay!
That was so thoughtful!

We’re very thankful for the gifts and for the wonderful visit.
I’m looking forward to seeing Lyne again in February! Until then, Lyne, I’ll make sure Nikko doesn’t go without hugs and kisses.
